Madonnari is a street painting originated in 16th century Italy. It is called because many of the paintings featured Madonna.

The first competition was held in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy. The first US festival was held in Santa Barbara, CA as benefit to Children’s Creative Project.

In US, there are many other Madonnari festivals are held under the name of “Chalk Art Festival,” including “Chocolate and CHalk Art Festival” in Berkeley, CA, “Pasadena Chalk Festival” in CA and “Chalk Art Festival” in Utah.

One man’s vision can change the whole world.  Through the characters he created, he enhanced the lives of people around the world, especially children.  Dream, imagination, charm, entertainment and most of all, fun are the words that characterize when we hear words like “Disney” and “Mickey Mouse.”

When there is an exchange of such wonderful energy, there is a healing.  Healing not in a sense of healing the sick, but healing to encourage us, to motivate us, to inspire us to move to a direction we all desire.

To celebrate and get a deep glimpse of his personal life journey and family life, The Walt Disney Family Museum was opened in San Francisco in the fall of 2009.
