*JAPANESE “SUSHI” Cooking Class
An introductory class offering basic of sushi making such as:
• Knife handling
• Cutting techniques of vegetables and fish
• Handling of fish
• Introduction to sushi ingredients
• Introduction to sushi making tools
• How to make sushi rice
• Introduction to many types of sushi
• How to make rolls
• How to make nigiri

Healthy JAPANESE “SHOJIN“Cooking Class
Cooking based on Japanese monastery style focusing on joy and compassion aiming to bring inner balance and health.
• Private class up to 6 people
• Emphasis on traditional Japanese special cuisine (vegan)
• Introduction to Japanese ingredients
• Basic Knife skills

* We use organic ingredients whenever they are available.
* There will be a transportation charge if your home is outside of public transportation in Bay Area
* 50% of class fee is required as a deposit. Deposit can be made by paypal or check at least one week before the class date.
* There will be a cancellation fee after one week before the class date.

About the instructor
Kaz Matsune is a native of Japan. He is a trained sushi chef and was ordained as Zen priest. He was a chef at such reputable restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco as Greens and Ozumo contemporary Japanese. Kaz also received Shojin cooking lesson from his Japanese Zen teacher, who was one of the head chef at 750 year old Zen monastery in Japan. He has taught over seventy cooking classes in both Japan and US. Kaz is a certified Food Safety Manager by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and certified Health and Food Safety Manager, Tokyo, Japan.
