“A placebo is a sham medical intervention. In one common placebo procedure, a patient is given an inert sugar pill, told that it may improve his/her condition, but not told that it is in fact inert. Such an intervention may cause the patient to believe the treatment will change his/her condition; and this belief does indeed sometimes have a therapeutic effect, causing the patient’s condition to improve. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect.”

Our unconscious mind controls 94-96% percent of our behavior and patterns. Our conscious mind sends our unconscious mind programing message as to how to behave. It is no wonder that when our conscious mind thinks that he/she is taking a miracle pill that is made of sugar to cure depression, our unconscious mind get the programming code and gets to work.
Here is a recent trend in Placebo effect, that is causing somewhat of trouble in pharmaceutical industry.
It just proves that healing takes effect in our mind first.
“Placebos are getting more effective. Drugmakers are desperate to know why.” (wired magazine)
